Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a foster parent for MCHS?
Opening your home to a dog or cat in need is an unbelievably rewarding experience! Not only this, but you are saving a dog or cat in need, and making a difference. Saying goodbye when your foster gets adopted it always hard, but the greatest feeling in the world is knowing your foster pet is going to his or her purrfect home!
MCHS provides the following to approved foster homes:
Foster homes are especially needed for:
Are you ready to take the first step towards becoming a foster parent? Fill out our Adoption Application, which is the first step in the process. (Note: we require all potential foster homes go through the application process as adopters would prior to fostering)

- Food ( & Dishes)
- Bedding
- Crate (if needed)
- Litterboxes & litter (for cats)
- Approved veterinary care (includes flea/tick preventative, dewormer, spay/neuter, etc)
Foster homes are especially needed for:
- Orphaned / bottle fed kittens
- Lactating mother cats & kittens
- Lactating mother dogs & puppies
- Weaned puppies / kittens
- Undersocialized dogs / cats
- Adult dogs / cats when we begin to reach capacity
