Fostering
Want to have a dog or cat in your life, but not able to make the long-term commitment to a pet?

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be a foster parent for MCHS?

We'd love to have your help!  We utilize foster homes in a variety of situations which include, but aren't limited to:
  • Weaned puppies & kitten, as they have undeveloped immune systems & more susceptible
  • Nursing puppies & their mother
  • Nursing kittens & their mother
  • Bottle fed kittens
  • Adult dogs/cats who are under-socialized, scared, or not flourishing in the shelter environment

Yes you can foster if you have children or other pets in your home!  We do our best to match fostered pets to their foster homes. It's always 'ruff' when your foster pet gets adopted, but you can know you made a difference in their life, and by knowing more about adoptable pets in a home environment it helps us find the best match for a furr-ever home!
